13.1 DONE

Standard

I did it! I finished my very first half marathon! It was fun but it was also tough-mentally and physically. I can’t wait to get my hands on all the pictures my family took.

Look out for a post later this week.

A quick THANK YOU to everyone who sent me well wishes and were there to cheer me and all the runners on!

Visit to the Philadelphia Zoo

Standard

About a month ago the wonderful Kelly over at The Running Phoodie was nice enough to give me some free passes to the Philadelphia Zoo. On a random Sunday earlier this month B and I decided to take advantage of some unseasonably warm weather and go for a visit with friends!

I have been to several zoos before-DC, San Diego and Philly when I was small. It was very interesting getting to see so many different types of animals, but it was also hard to see some of the animals that would normally live in a much larger space all cooped up!

I did manage to snap some photos of our visit, so enjoy!

5 days until 1/2 marathon time!!

Good things to come

Standard

Wow it sure has been awhile since I posted!

The next couple months are going to be busy!! I am in the tail end of 1/2 marathon training (less than a week to go!!), then there is Thanksgiving, my birthday and getting ready for my trip to San Diego!!! Yup-I’m going to San Diego the first week in December! Top it all off with a handful of holiday parties, shopping and Christmas and I have a feeling the next couple months are going to fly by!

I would love to hear from you all about things to do/see/eat while I am in San Diego. Exactly three years ago I was in San Diego for a one day trip with my friend Jessica on our way home from a visit to Palm Springs. We were able to see the zoo but I would really love to explore the city more!

(I’ll be staying here!!)

Before I go – awhile back I received a very generous sampling of Illy Issimo’s line of canned espresso drinks as part of Foodbuzz’s Tastemaker Program. I was feeling generous and after sampling one on a recent drive down to DC I brought the rest to share with my co-workers at the restaurant I work at part-time. They were all very happy to try a new-to-them product!

Although I am partial to a nice, tall iced coffee for Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, I did like how easy it was to just grab one from the fridge and go!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. I hope everyone has a great rest of their week!!
